We have designed and manufactured the Steel Structure of the atrium for “Retroville” Shopping and Entertainment Center. The scale of the work done is best reflected in figures: the size of the structure is 65x36 meters, and the total weight is 172 tons.
The peculiarity of atriums manufacturing assumes the utmost accuracy in joining spatial elements of the framework. We used 325 mm diameter rolled tubes as the main section of the arches for implementation of this project. We applied the innovative translucent film coating of the German company Vector Foiltec in order to create a comfortable zone of natural insolation.
There were four phases in the work implementation:
1) the Steel Structures design using BIM-technology;
2) сreation of the Detailed Steel Structures documentation using BIM-technology as well;
3) the manufacture of Steel Structure weighing 172 tons;
4) transportation of the finished Structure to the object.
